Privacy

A recording of a person working is information about that person.

That is not a technicality. It is the thing this entire instrument is built on, and it is where an operator's right to withdraw actually comes from.

This website

What it collects, which is almost nothing.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party scripts and no cookies set by us. Nothing on these pages is watching you read them.

No fonts or files called out

The type is served from this site rather than from somebody else's, so reading a page here does not tell a third party you were here.

Server logs

Our host keeps ordinary request logs to serve the site and keep it up. We do not build profiles from them.

If you write to us

We keep your message and your address so we can reply and so we can find it again. Ask us to delete it and we will, and we will tell you when it is done.

A recording

What a recording is.

A session records what a person's hands did, what the machine did in answer, and what they were looking at. It identifies the person in the seat, by design, because a way of working with no name attached could not be licensed, credited or paid for.

So a session is personal information about an identifiable person, and the rights that attach to it are theirs and not their employer's:

  1. 01
To be told, before it startsWhat is recorded, what is not, where it is kept, who can reach it, in the same words we use with the person paying for it.
  2. 02
To agree separatelyConsent comes apart. Yes to being recorded is not yes to being combined with others, and neither is yes to running under your name.
  3. 03
To withdrawAt any time, at no cost, and without your employer's agreement. It comes out of service the day the withdrawal arrives.
  4. 04
To be told the true deletion dateIncluding backups, and including the limit where a model cannot be un-trained. The real date, not the convenient one.
  5. 05
To see what is heldAnd to see the count of hours it worked and what is owed for them.
Where these rights come from

Law, and the agreement.

Privacy law attaches consent and withdrawal rights to information about an identifiable person directly. The entitlement to be paid is created by the agreement. A person deciding whether to take part should know what they could enforce and what they are relying on us for, so the two are kept apart here.

This notice

This describes how the site behaves today and how recordings are designed to be handled. No capture session has ever been recorded and the agreements are still being written. This notice will be reviewed by counsel and reissued before any recording is made, and the version in force at that time is the one that will govern.
